Combining Two Units into One Luxury Condo in Bethesda
Beautifully Reimagined Condominium Space with Unique Design Solutions and Touches
Our client purchased the unit next door to their condominium, embarked on an epic makeover, and expanded their living space with dazzling results. The main ideas of this project were creating a more open and valuable living space and modernizing the kitchen, bathroom, and flooring. Additionally, the client needed increased and more efficient use of the closet space and the addition of laundry capabilities.
The original compact kitchen and one bathroom were opened by removing closets or partial closets to create more space. Although closets were removed, the closet space was significantly increased and made more efficient by relocating and building three new closets and reconfiguring existing closets. A spacious laundry room was added where the newly purchased next-door condo’s kitchen once was.
Light-colored, grained Uptown Chic Provenza Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring in the kitchen and living spaces replaced outdated linoleum and parquet, creating an immediate updated look and feel. However, the flooring was only the beginning
of this incredible makeover story—the showpieces of this project are genuinely the kitchen and bathroom.
The Dura Supreme kitchen cabinetry, counters, and hardware were chosen in grey, white, and black tones to contrast and blend with the floor. Appliances were updated, and generous and convenient storage was installed, including a pull-out utensil drawer and spice rack, both conveniently located near the gas range. The unique focal point—a Natural Elements Hex Leaves Mosaic backsplash in the kitchen, which incorporates the floor, cabinetry, and countertop hues—ties this stunning space together. A new peninsula built out into the living area for meals and entertaining and sleek recessed bulkhead lighting chosen by our client are the masterful touches that expand and modernize the condominium.
The bathroom transformation from outdated brown tones to crisp navy cabinetry and white tile with brushed nickel hardware and faucets enlivens and elevates the bath. Our client handpicked a variety of blue, white, and grey tiles to create a distinctive mosaic shower niche focal point that beautifully ties together the bathroom color palette.
